The is the README file for "The Bullionist Controversy: Theory and New Evidence" by Joshua R. Hendrickson,
Journal of Money, Credit and Banking.

-- bullionistest3.mod is the Dynare file to estimate the model. In order to estimate the model,
you need to use the file bdata.m to call the data from the ASCII file entitled bullionistdata.data
-- Since the latest version of MATLAB does not play well with Dynare, the IRFs plotted using Dynare
will have funny shaded regions. To plot the IRFs, use plotIRFs_postestimate.m after the .mod file
has been run.
-- grangercausality.m estimates Granger causality tests for the real world data.
-- The file GenerateData_bullionist3.m simulates data using the policy functions from the solution
to the model to generate 100,000 series for the observables. Granger causality tests are then
conducted for each simulation. The average p-value is then printed.
